English programs

The English curriculum involves the study of language, literature and culture. Students can choose from a variety of courses, including Science Fiction and Fantasy Literature, American Crime and Detective Fiction, Southern Culture, Thematic Studies in Literature and Film, and Chaucer.

Undergraduate

In addition to a Bachelor of Science, the program offers an emphasis area in secondary education for students interested in teaching high school English and language arts.

Graduate

On the graduate level, the program offers a dual enrolled Master of Arts in English with the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Minors

The program offers a number of popular minors for students already enrolled in other programs, including literature, writing, literature and film, American studies and creative writing.
