Each semester our department offers a few courses through Missouri S&T's Distance and Continuing Education (DCE) ( http://dce.mst.edu/index.html ) or Educational Technology ( http://edtech.mst.edu/).Please contact the department chair, Dr. Swenson (kswenson@mst.edu), for further information.

Some of our courses are designed for independent study and are offered through the   Center for Distance and Independent Study (CDIS) . These are different from courses offered through the DCE in that they are not video-based. They involve independent study from prescribed textbooks and submitting assignments to the instructor for evaluation online or through mail or fax.

Currently, three of our courses are offered through CDIS:

ENGL 115 Practical Grammar
ENGL 160 Technical Writing
ENGL 305 History and Structure of the English Language

The following courses will be offered through CDIS later this semester:

ENGL/TCH COM 65 Introduction to Technical Communication
ENGL/TCH COM 260 Practicum in Technical Communication
